5 AliExpress Buys I Couldn’t Resist

I’m a huge AliExpress fan – I can’t resist their cheap prices and ease of purchase.

I live in a country where the cost of living is steep, so regular items can take a toll on my budget. Small items that cost $1 on AliExpress can go for sale for $10 or more here.

But high prices are now a thing of the past for me me and millions of others – why spend more money on an item when we can buy it cheap online?

As a result, I’ve bought dozens of items on AliExpress and spent a fraction of what I would be paying for the same items here. Sometimes, I buy interesting gadgets and useful lifehack tools.

These are 5 of my favorite AliExpress recent purchases – and I bought them all for a total of less than $10!

*Please note that prices fluctuate frequently on AliExpress so they may be different than what I posted

1) My Nessie Ladle

I needed a ladle at home as is – we had nothing to serve soup. Sure, I could have gone to the store and bought a dull one for $11. I peeked around AliExpress out of curiosity and met Nessie the ladle! I knew I had to have this ladle for myself. ? It’s a great conversation starter.

Price: $1.62

There’s also a Nessie colander for pasta. ❤

2) Small Bluetooth Headset

I like to listen to lectures while I’m working out at the gym, but the headphone’s wires were getting in the way of my workout.

Bluetooth headsets are awesome because they are wireless, but they were going for over $25 here. I didn’t want to spend that much money on a headset that I would use 3 hours a week.

So I found myself a cute Bluetooth earpiece for only $3. They worked for a few months and then died out on me… but hey, for $3, I got enough use out of them.

Price: $3

3) Heartbeat Necklace

This beautiful heartbeat necklace stood out to me immediately when I was looking for new jewelry. I spent only $10 to buy over 20 pieces of jewelry and this was my favorite piece of them all.

It looks far more expensive than the super low $0.63 I spent on it. People ask me about it every time I wear it out.

Price: $0.63

4) Mosquito Netting

Summer comes around and the mosquitoes take over my town. Unfortunately, the windows don’t have mosquito netting and setting it up can cost me a few hundred dollars to cover the wire mesh and a professional.

So I rummaged through AliExpress and found the perfect temporary solution: mosquito netting that I can glue on with self-adhesive tape.

With one package, I covered two windows and my mosquito problem was gone.

Price: $1.46

5) Digital Baggage Scale

This is one of the smartest buys of my life. It’s stored protectively in my closet because it’s worth more than gold to me.

Since I bought a digital baggage scale, I don’t worry about excess baggage anymore. I know the exact weight of my baggage long before I arrive to the airport. It’s super easy to use, convenient and saves me hassle and money.

I often fly standby because it’s cheaper and I can invest the additional time and flights involved. But when I fly standby, I also become a lower priority passenger, somewhat of a burden to the crew.

They will not let me go even half a pound over 20kgs in my suitcase, and I’ve had situations where I had to pay very high rates to cover the excess weight. Other times, I’ve had no choice but to remove things from my suitcase and place it in my carry-on or just leave it behind.

Now, it’s a problem of the past.

Cost: $3.72
