5 Craziest Things People Have Done to Earn Money

When it comes to making money, it seems like some people have no limits! While some come up with creative ideas that are very unique, others are willing to give up their health or life to make some cash.

Let’s learn about 5 crazy ways people have made money:

1) Tattooing their face

You may recall viral pictures passing from hand to hand online of people who got paid to tattoo a brand on their foreheads or bald heads. It’s insane what they are willing to do for an extra few bucks! Andrew Fischer auctioned his forehead space for $37,000 on eBay, but he had a temporary tattoo of the logo that lasted only one month. Not everyone has gone for the temporary option – some have gone permanent, and probably spent a good part of their earnings on laser tattoo removal.

2) Boob massages

We’re not all so well-endowed to pull this off, but Kristy Love has massive boobs, and she realized the unique marketing potential behind them. After being rejected from masseuse school due to her large breasts, she started her own kind of massage – a breast massage. She offers both sensual and non-sensual breast massages to clients and is now bringing in over $1000 a day by rubbing her… assets on customer’s bodies.

3) Selling their life

In a plot reminiscent to movies when a character sells his ‘soul’ to the devil, Mike Merrill decided to sell his own life and decisions. As a business man involved in investment, he saw the value in splitting his own life into $100,000 shares, each at $1.  Shareholders then bought his shares, making him $100,000 rich but in control of others. Now, his shareholders make every significant and non-significant decision in his life including what he eats, who he dates, his hair style, what music he listens to. Talk about losing your independence for a big wad of cash!

4) Selling their virginity

In the sex-crazed world that we live in, virginity apparently has a huge monetary value. While most people give it up for free, Natalie Dylan decided to take it down another path and make herself a millionaire by losing her virginity. A 22 year old California college grad, she sold her virginity for an amazing $3.7 million. By the end of the heated bidding run, she had 10,000 bidders aiming at taking her ‘purity’, with the final bid reaching in the millions. Prostitution is legal in California, so she wasn’t breaking any laws – but it’s a crazy thing to do that will stay connected to her name forever!

5) The Million Dollar Homepage

In one of the most brilliant marketing ploys to have ever happened in the World Wide Web, this scheme landed the creator a million dollars easily. The idea was simple – create a page with one million pixels and sell each pixel at $1. Advertisers came by the mass to the website, knowing of its potential to go viral. Each advertiser could decide the amount of pixels they wanted, and at $1 apiece, it was pretty cheap per ad.  The creator got huge amount of publicity, and it was worth the investment for the advertisers as they got tons of valuable advertisement for years!

    • Forrest

Sorry to follow you here to reply, however, your comments were moderated on CNN’s site. I agree with you 100% about making services for service members more visible, if the families wish to do so. To add to your justified indignation about the Brown funeral, I thought it noteworthy that no one from the White House attended the service for James Foley who was killed as a message to our nation.

  • It would funny to sell someone’s life as though you have the money, you don’t have control of how you’ll be using it.

  • Now that’s interesting. I never knew there are people who pays for a boob massage lol.

  • You can add a #6 to this list: people who sell their organs.
I’d take you up on that trip offer. I might go to Vietnam though in Oct-Nov 🙂

  • Very funny article! Some people would do anything for money.
